It's e Big4 recruitment time. 4 interviews, 3 down.And I'm proud to say that I've got offers from all 3!
You might wonder why Deloitte is kinda open. And it is, in the sense that I do not have to choose the department that I want at the moment. I can confirm it only after graduation at around May next year. But it is the openness of it that worries me, whether I can get GFS, since i did not apply for GFS for Deloitte. You might also wonder what is GFS. It is in short for Global Financial Services. Basically the department is under Assurance but it is much more specialised. I would only be doing audit of financial institutions ie banks etc. Very challenging and fun right. I'm real happy to be offered by EY GFS. The other big4 like PwC does not accept fresh graduates for this department. EY's application and interviews are also kinda separate for GFS. They are only recruiting 20 odd people and the interview questions were more challenging than the general audit interviews. What's funny is that I was freaking nervous before EY interview, even though I have already secured Deloitte by then. But it just happens to me when I really want something I guess. But I'm glad that for once i did not screw up the interview, at least in my opinion. Practice does make perfect, but what really makes me happy is that I was able to compose myself and show them the real me. But Deloitte does seem to be a good firm too. Turnover is much less there. Seems like benefits are better. So Im still undecided. Decided to go for their cocktail function before making any decision. Oh and there's still PwC interview on monday. Hope that I dont screw it up again. But in any case, no sweat since I have already secured 3 firms and especially one which i really like. Gosh Im supposed to prepare for e-strat. Meeting tomorrow but Im just more excited abt my career than the competition at the moment...
