Because you do not meet up for 2 weeks? Because you happily judged your friend to be unfree due to ___? Because you rationalised your not-asking-out by above-mentioned judgment? Because your friend cannot accompany you for soccer match on 2 special days – day of arrival and CNY EVE? Because your friend tried to make it up by spending more time with you before that such that she got so tired and drained and yet still continue? Because your friend was also busy due to school work and audit quiz? Because your friend sent regular messages to you only to be snubbed and ignored? Or worst, criticised and swarmed with sarcasm? Because you can abandon your friend when your friend needs you most? Because your friend always give in to you? Because you rank your friend as the number 100th? Because you rank your friend only as number 1 when you need her? Because you are always unappreciative? ‘Seasonal’ friends have never appeared in my dictionary. You are either my friend or you are not. I strongly believe that friends do not always have to meet up when unfree. It is the mutual feeling ie bond that makes up a friendship. Even without meeting for months or years, so long as the bond shared is still there, the friendship will always run. True friends are those that might not always meet up but will always be there for you, literally or otherwise. Being there for me when I need a friend is very important to me and that is my definition of a true friend. One who will always be there for you and will always think for the best for you without being calculative. I hate friends who hurt their friends. Probably I should not even call these people friends. Those who can hurt their friends are certainly not my friends. Refer to one of my posts on friendship a year or so ago and this same point would have appeared. I do not consider people who hurt their friends as friends. I would not call my friends hypocritical. Cos I do not have any hypocritical friends. I hate friends who do not think of their friends in their positions. I hate it (whenever) when I feel that I have already done my best when the end is being much unappreciated. This applies in all situations. To friends, to family and all. I hate friends who take friends for granted. I believe that it takes both hands to clap. Maintaining a friendship requires as much skill and effort as maintaining a relationship. If there is only one side making the effort, I pity that person. And perhaps the other party for losing a good friend when the one making the effort finally tires out and gives up. With hundreds and thousands of strangers brushing across our shoulders on the streets each day, it is really not easy to know someone, let alone become friends and good friends. I do treasure friends a hell lot. So if I find that my friends are not my friends, it is really hard for me to try and maintain the friendship. ~ FRIENDS ~ As we walk our path of life, These become special friends Their love contains no boundaries. This love becomes a passageway, |
