Back from Bangkok.
Had fun but down with flu and sore throat (usual virus yet again).
Would blog about Bangkok soon but before that, here’s part II of V of Europe.
Part II - Paris
Much to our delight, the French are surprisingly friendly. Never once did we encounter all those talk about ‘If you don’t speak French, they won’t give a damn’.
Food is very good there too. Our first meal left us pinning for more. Wanted to have our last meal there before we leave, but much to our dismay, the café is closed till 20 August. Nevertheless, we had our last meal of dapao-ed Paul’s on the steps outside a museum (yummy pastries recommended by another friend of ours). I love the macarons while they can’t forget about the quiches. Yum yum yum.

Enjoyed an afternoon lying at the grass and enjoying Eiffel Tower right in front of us (and the weather was rather cool for such fieldtrip). Had a good time zilian-ing too (who wouldn’t, its Eiffel Tower!)
However, we didn’t go up the Eiffel Tower to catch a bird’s eye view of Paris, for we had something better in mind – which was to go up Notre Dame Tower whereby we could see Eiffel Tower too! Smart eh? Bird's eye view. Spot Eiffel Tower? The gargoyles
Me with other gargoyles Also visited the much acclaimed Montmarte which was really nothing. Saw Moulin Rouge though.
And the Sacré-Coeur Basilica in Montmarte. Had a good time chilling outside to ease my pms. This photo is really funny. Looks like I'm kiao-ka-ing but its actually my hand on Jeanne's leg. And I was so entertained by Jeanne's weird shots of people. The ah ma on the top left is classic! And below her is such a loving old couple.. And the authentic Mona Lisa painting
And many more..
Caught them chilling on the grass outside. No more grass for me after lying on the grass patch at Effiel Tower which I got real itchy since then.
And how can visiting Paris ever be complete without a trip to Disneyland?
Gosh I really love Disneyland! Everything seems so fun and happy there. Heh.
And I managed about 3 scary rides which was the max I could go (Jieyi started puking after the 2nd ride). Tried a small 360 roller coaster too (for once!)
Jeanne and I at Disneyland
Jieyi and I before we left
Managed to catch the parade both at the park and at the Disney Studios. Well worth our entrance ticket! =)
Tigger was bouncing and bouncing around!
And the bird on the bottom right jumped real hard a couple of times. Very cute and funny.
The princes and princesses
Paris shopping is mainly at Champs Elysees which consisted of 2 long streets of shops and boutiques. Managed to grab some buys. And there’s a huge 2-storey Louis Vuitton which I was nearly tempted into getting a wallet – for it retails at about 30-40% less than those in Singapore. But wells, the poor ‘awaiting employment’ decided that I shouldn’t splurge before earning my own keep.
So all in all, I love Paris. Food is good, people are nice, weather was good, sightseeing was great. But our hotel sucked. Except for the free wireless and good location, almost everything else sucked.
And I would say that the cost of living in Paris is rather high. So I would want to revisit Paris, but only when I feel rich enough I guess. When I can also afford stuff at the LV boutique.
And this is a really unique painting on the building that we saw near the LV boutique. I like it very much. Cool, no?
