Short getaway was great!

While I was randomly reading my earlier posts a couple of days ago, I ran through my Europe posts and I was kind of glad that I actually blogged about it. I can barely remember some of the names of the places that I have actually been to. Haa. So this is what blogging is for right? So here goes.

I was really glad that everything could fit so perfectly within a week. Booking tickets, planning, packing and the getaway itself. All in a week!

Our ferry ride there was real funny. Cos we were the last 2 persons to board the ferry. Ran kind of late and I even heard our names loud and clear through the PA system at Harbourfront Ferry Terminal. Throw face eh? But at least we did not miss our ferry ride! Haa

We reached our resort about an hour after the erxin customs clearance. My first impression was “WOAH”. Wells, the expression was not due to the magnificence of it or anything like that. It was because it is very ulu and slope-y. Ulu was expected as we wanted it out of the city and near the beach (Turi’s the only decent beach resort we could find), but I totally didn’t expect slope-y.

These are 2 different slopes!

And stairs that we had to take at least twice everyday!

Nice room..

As I was mentioned about the beach earlier on.. Our resort is totally surrounded by beach and sea. Very niceeeee

This is where we stayed for 2 nights. Kinda kampong-y. The rooms are built with wood on stilts. They also had the chalet style kind of rooms but they were under renovation.

These rooms are very cool. We even saw monkeys (2 monkeys!) running around under the rooms. Ok not to mention the very freaky slimy little snake I saw this morning. And ignoring the thousands of mosquitoes, I guess it is a very nice room afterall.

See the monkey?

Breakfast spread was good. We didn’t expect a lot as the breakfast vouchers were checked in the column of “American breakfast” instead of “Continental breakfast”.

Our real hearty breakfasts (1st serving of Days 1 & 2 respectively). Despite that one and only restaurant (as the others are all under renovation), we did not really get sick of the food. Quite yummy. Hee

Gado gado

I love this meal!!! Apple pie ala mode, Es Teller (local dessert) and stingray!!! Absolutely YUMMY!!!

Some nasi goreng

They serve western too!

Our daily exercise after dinner (reminds me of our 20p pool in London)..

So apart from zilian-ing and eating, what else did we do??
Wells, we slacked around (ALOT)..

..swimmed (in the gorgeous pool) A bar by the pool. how cool is that.

...kayaked (a bit as I got kind of sea-sick cause we were basically sitting in the kayak in the middle of the sea most of the time)..

..sun tanned..

..spa and pedicured..

And not forgetting tennis!! (Pics not with me)

Haha our little getaway was short but sweet. Enjoyed it alot!!!
